Focus focus focus
I did a sort of unstructured work out. 15 minutes of 6 rl 6 with no timer. No warm up . I just geared up and started doing reps. Not sure why but I went with it because a work out is a work out.
ZZZzzzz...
I forgot to post yesterday's work out so here it is...
Just a basic 5 minute warm up.
15 minutes of 6 RL 6 but I did utilize strong hand for 5 minutes and weak hand for 5 minutes as well. The match this weekend may incorporate some of it.

Practice, Practice, Practice !
Live fire last night. Only 3 stages under 20 rounds per stage. It all felt really good. It was very productive considering. I always enjoy live fire. I wish it had been alot more but alot of shooters where there and it was fun just as well.

4 days and counting!
8-26-2009 7 am
I started out today with a "fast" 5 minute warm up. From there I stayed steady with 6 RL 6 utilizing all the draws. (need to do more up range stuff.) I was really pushing the speed in this as well. Overall it felt very good and smooth.
I was really pushing the speed to try to give it a hard push for the upcoming match. I am hoping a speed push will help if I pull it back a tad for the match. I feel I have made some progress recently in my fluidness but only a match can tell if it will help my game.

Crunch Time!
8-24-2009 (missed post)
I did a 5 minute warm up and worked on getting my hands together fast. When I was timing myself with pars I always seem to go faster when I put emphasis on it. I still feel as though I am not doing it subconcious but only when I focus on it.
a good 20 minute session of 6 RL 6 starting to push myself a little. I utilized some surrender and HAS draws. Overall a messy work out but without any practice for a short while I needed to get back in the saddle.

Good work out today.
I did my usual warm up session but stuck with draws and for 10 minutes this time. Pushing a good bit for the last ten minutes with the timer. I started to feel that smoothness that I want in all facets of my shooting.
I worked on a few strings of 10 reps of Burkett reloads which I haven't done in quite some time. They felt pretty good.
I proceeded to finish up with 15 minutes of constant 6 RL 6. I really worked eye transitions while making sure I was hitting my called shot. Does that make sense? Can you focus on two targets at the same time? It feels like it to me sometimes.
Overall a great workout!
Need to step it up more tomorrow.

Where was I????
I only got in 15 minutes this morning but I did feel good. I wasn't very smooth and I was off some. I know it happens if you don't practice and it doesn't take long.
I mostly worked on draws and 6 RL 6.
I really need to push this the rest of the week.

Where did I leave off?
Last Friday? Saturday? I did a great 45 min work out I forgot to post about. I forget alot of the details...
Today I pushed hard for 20 min. I did a 5 minute draw only session with HAS and surrender draws. I then did 6 RL 6 with both draws for about 15 min non stop with timer. It felt good but I definately " went through the motions".
Jay informed me that alot of the top shooters will not be at the match in two weeks. I need to really push the practice sessions and live fire. I have a huge opportunity to win a match. Am I crazy to think it is possible? nope! I should always be pushing for the top!!

15 here 10 there!
Only 15 minutes today with almost exclusive draws only. I really want to pound in the first dot/shot. I seem to lose alot of time on the first draw and aquire. .3-.5 a stage is 3 secs if there is 6 stages. Mechanics are something I can drill in at home so there is no excuse!

Get something done....
Ten minutes was all I could get in I am a little behind this am. I will do my best to get SOMETHING done every morning.
Live Fire!
Last night was Wednesday practice and I got there at 6:30 to find out Jay had shown up and setup a stage. There was a very good turn out to practice. I spent all that time last weekend getting my zero and I have to say WHAT A DIFFERENCE! I was shooting steel very well and was hardly down any points the four times I ran it. KNOW YOUR ZERO!

Back to work!
Slow going this morning. Took a little to get the blood flowing.
I worked mostly on draws for a good amount of time. I really want to get some time shaved off the draws. Followed up with a session of 6 RL 6 . Total time spent about 25 mins. Welcome back to work.

Know your zero..
Live Fire!!
300 rds ;)
I got to the range today early and got started on " finding my zero" . I recently have felt as though my dot was way off. If it was not I certainly needed to know. I was right it was indeed pretty far off. At 50 yds shooting for center mass from a bench it was missing the target completely. It took me about 100 rounds at 25 yds to get it on pretty damn close. It has to be the hardest thing to zero I have found. My scope on my AR took about 10 shots to be right on the steel plates at 200 yds at the club.
I proceeded to work on two shots to a target, one to steel at 25 yds for 150 rounds or so. Finished up with a couple full mags at steel only for 50 rounds or so. I felt pretty good on steel at 25 yds which is more than most stages would require. It overall was very productive and it felt good to have some live fire and feel the gun.
Off to do some dumbell work..

Smooth...
Today I started with a simple close warm-up. I practiced surrender draws and HAS.
I then worked on some Burkett reloads for 5 minutes. So far no timer just feeling it.
I finished up with 6 RL 6 for about 10 minutes straight. I started to feel good and I had to ask myself if I was staying focused on the shots. I didn't have a major focus for the workout besides quick grip in the warm up draws. Other than that it was just going at a smooth pace.

Gliding..
I did manage to get in ten minutes yesterday as well as 50 reps each arm with dumbell. Although it may not have been much I am trying very hard to stay with my daily routine.
Today I got in a much better work out. I started with my 5 minute warm-up. I then proceeded to do 6 RL 6 for 5 minute. I did finally add in some more things. I worked for 10 minutes on 6 RL 6 SHO. I then did 10 minutes of 6 RL 6 WHO. My finish was approx. 20 reps back to regular 6 RL 6. They all really started to "glide" as I got a ways into it. Really was a great work out. I plan on doing my dumbell reps for the day in a couple minutes..

Wakey Wakey!
7 am - 730 am
dryfire...
I started slow with a mild warm up. I worked on 6 RL 6 for about 10 minutes with various draws. I shifted to 2 RL 2 for about 20 straight minutes. I really started to feel it near the end. I need to find a way to get that "groove" quicker. If it takes me 15 min of consistent work to get smooth I will have a hard time in matches to get comfortable.
Off to do dumbell reps.

HRPC Wednesday practice....
I have been getting to practice late with my new job and didn't arrive until 6:30. I felt lacking in motivation but soon got motivated. I shot slow and poor at first. In live fire it almost felt foreign from dryfire. I only got an hour or so in but didn't start to feel comfortable until the last couple array's.
I definately need to start working on more live fire. Until I can manage to get more in I will still push the dryfiring but need to find a way to get more live in.

Get it done!
8-5-2009
Just 10 minutes with the timer this morning. I worked on 6 RL 6 with various draws. lastnight I did 50 reps each arm with the dumbbells.
Simple but got it in.

Back to work!
8-4-2009 7-30 am
I did 5 min warm up with no timer. Mostly 6 RL 6 , surrender draws,
I kept it simple and worked on the same with timer for 15 minutes. I worked non stop. (with timer) I pushed hard near the end and still stayed focused and on target.
I really need to start pushing myself this week. The monthly match is still a few weeks away but Erol (my brother) is coming in just a couple weeks so I will miss some practice coming up.

High Noon!
8-3-2009 noon
I started with no draws just check to target. I worked on keeping my hands in good form. Surrender draws, HAS and target only for 5 min or so total. (no timer)
50 reps of Burkett reloads.
I spent 10 minutes working on 6 RL 6 with surrender draws, 5 minutes elprez and 5 minutes HAS draws. ( all with timer)
All the reps felt pretty good and I am finding a groove. I need to stick at this schedule it feels like I am gaining some continuity.
I also did 50 reps each arm with a 10lb dumbbell last night.

Morning wake up!
8-2-2009 11 AM
5 min warm up. I did mostly regular draws and surrender draws. (no timer)
15 min of 6 RL 6. I mostly did surrender draws. Felt ok but I felt sluggish. My reloads where smooth and I hit them all. Not much but I still managed to get it in.
I spent about 4 hours today reloading the last of my sierra bullets. (1k) I also fixed about 100 rounds that I made too long (from a long time ago ).
I really need to find my zero at say 50 yards. Maybe I can hit the range soon and try to get it done.
