Refocus!

I decided not to post my entire pages of notes... It will take me too long and this is taking away from my dryfiring.. I need to get back to it...

This is a summary of things to catch up.

10-2o-2009
30 min draw and engage top part of lower a box.

10-21-2009
15 min draws really working the left hand...

10-22-2009

draws- worked it into 4 steps and worked each separate.
10 min full draws with left hand focus..

10-23-2009

5 minutes of warm up with focus on left hand mechanics.
15 min full draws with a shot
2 min of 6 RL 6

10-24-2009

20 min work out of 6 RL 6 with also some 4 RL 4 mixed in
I really focused on draw mechanics and pause in reloads.

I think this will catch me up. I really want to get back to working out and I need to gain some time back from somewhere.

Notes...notes....notes..

10-19-2009 Matt B notes

These are in no particular order. These are some of the things I took from the class.

Movement in and out of boxes is horrible. I need to get it under control. Shoot entering and leave finishing the last shot. I need to get it down

My left thumb needs to remain straight when holding gun. no angles. Slat and pointing at target

See every shot! Don't shoot unless I can SEE it.

Work my draws some in reverse. This will help those mechanics along better

My first shot is very weak! Get rid of the hesitation. See that target. dot and engage. I seem to be pausing.

Break down stages into 1/2's, 3rds, or even 1/4's . this will help the larger ones become more simple.

Break down each facet of draws, transitions, movement, EVERYTHING! Down into each individual part and maximize the movement. No wasted energy.

I need to get my movement broken down and improved. This should be my advantage and at this point it is a disadvantage.

Pinch that left hand in the draws. Need to make sure that left hand is holding the gun not the right!

last one for today is pushing out that gun and into sight picture smooth and at a slight upward angle. No herky jerky! get the hands together high and quick..

I will post more at a later time as this was only one page of the notes... When you break it down into the details.. I took alot from the class!!

Matt Burkett

10-19-2009

Well the class came and went...

What a good time. Besides the fact it was 30 degree's both days I learned alot.. I learned more on day two with it being a little more detailed. The first day was alot of shooting. 1200 rounds or so. The second day was only about 500. After the second day I took a ton of notes and will post them here at a later date. It was well worth the price of admission ;)

The past....

I haven't posted in over a month and I can't totally catch up so I am going to summarize.

I stopped dryfiring about 3 weeks before the MB class. I told myself that if I was doing it wrong then I might as well wait and learn it right and practice after the class.. It really was just a cop out as I was getting very busy and just needed a break.
